81% of global organizations experienced increased cyber threats

A report from McAfee Enterprise and FireEye has indicates that during the Covid-19 pandemic, 81% of global organizations experienced increased cyber threats. Cybercriminals are taking advantage of the recent pandemic when businesses and individuals have been focusing on health and social distancing measures by attacking systems that otherwise would have been monitored more closely or updated more frequently.

The UK government survey for 2021 from Ipsos Mori has revealed that; "   Four in ten businesses (39%) and a quarter of charities (26%) report having cyber security breaches or attacks in the last 12 months. Like previous years, this is higher among medium businesses (65%), large businesses (64%) and high-income charities (51%).1 "    The report continues to suggest that average annual cost of data or asset loss could be in the region of £8460.
